Why not come along to our Fundamentals of Dressmaking Course!

This is a 2 week course.

Dates:

Week 1 -Thursday 5th June 2025 10:30-2:30pm

Week 2 -Thursday 12th June 2025 10:30-2:30pm

£115 for the 2 week course. £25 deposit payable today. The remaining amount due is to be paid to the tutor on the first day of the course.

What the course covers:

Anatomy of a dress pattern

Taking your own measurements

Understanding sizes and changes you

need to make to fit your body.

What patterns to use.

Suitable fabric choices.

Cutting out a toile in muslin.

Tools needed.

Understanding symbols and patterns

Making a toile.

Finishing seams.

Benefits of using an Overlocker.

Test garment fitting.

What you need to bring:

Basic sewing kit

Note pad and pen

Your sewing Machine

We will provide:

Muslin for toile

Pattern and instructions for a drop sleeve top.

Tracing paper for your pattern.

Expert tuition.

A friendly and welcoming space where you are free to ask those doubting questions.

Drinks and biscuits provided.

Further information will be emailed out to you prior to the start of the course. Please make sure your sewing machine is in good working order, as you will need to bring this along to the class.
